What to do when the Wi-Fi drops

Pool decks are hard on Wi-Fi. Pool Check-in is built so a dropped connection slows nothing down at the gate.

What keeps working

While the device was online, it saved a copy of your roster. With no connection, staff can still search residents and open a household from that copy, and a check-in waits on the device and sends itself once the connection is back. Each one is recorded once, even if it is sent twice. The page says that the copy is offline and when it was saved.

What waits for the connection

A few things need the server and say so on screen:

  • Anything added to the roster since the last time the device was online.
  • Today's log and other reports that read live data.
  • A change to households' standing, such as a new ban or suspension, until the device reconnects.

Set the tablet up for it

Open the app online at least once, and on a tablet add it to the Home Screen. Browsers can clear a website's saved data after a week without use, and the saved roster goes with it. The roster copy is also not used after 72 hours, and it is deleted when someone signs out.

When a household was barred in the meantime

A tablet with no connection does not learn of a ban until it reconnects, so it can check that household in until then. When the entry reaches the server, your community's setting decides. Refuse it, which is the default, and it is not recorded and the attendant's tablet shows it as not accepted. Or record it, and it is saved with the time it was made and marked in the log as made before the ban. Check-ins held on a tablet for more than 7 days are refused.
